Nesting...

It’s unavoidable during pregnancy. One day I woke up and our whole perfectly tidy home was FILTHY! Every inch needed to be scrubbed. There was rearranging to be done. Priceless items I once thought indisposable needed to meet with our local garbage disposal team. Every where I looked there was so much work to be done. The poor kittens and puppies even lost some of their toys in the process (to be replaced by new ones - phew!). No part of nesting surprised me until my beautiful wife, Temira, caught the ‘bug’ as well and I realised that Nesting doesn’t discriminate, in fact it latches hold of whoever is closest and lulls them into its intoxicating ways.

So far she has completely rearranged our laundry, second sitting room and study. She and I have painted more than, well, more than I thought I would ever paint. It was just the nursery that got the Royale treatment, our bedroom, study and parts of the kitchen were all updated. Temira was on board when I randomly suggested our working dish washer had to be replaced before we could wash any baby bottles and she graciously replaced our kitchen tap to accomodate my need to install a new above sink dish rack (so the kittens can’t get to the drying items)... there’s a reason for everything I swear!

I am indifferent toward our newfound desire to vacuum the same spot multiple times and wipe that kitchen bench for the 50th time in the hour. Let’s not mention our need to wash the dishes before they go in the dishwasher (you know, so the dishwasher doesn’t get dirty 🤦🏻‍♀️).

Even the garden isn’t safe... those damn weeds - they must die!! And new plants!! Everything must be pretty. Oh and under the garbage bins, that definitely needed paving.

How can a tiny human who will barely be able to see what her crazy mummies have been up to cause such a stir 🤷🏻‍♀️

What ‘crazy’ nesting things did you get up to in the lead up to your little one arriving? Please tell me they were worse than ours? Or at least on par!!
